1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. Post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your LJ.
4. Include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post. (or a separate post, but not too long after. Be honest here, people!)
Questions from [Bad username or site: lynkemma / @ livejournal.com]:
1. If you were to create a still life consisting of five objects that represent your life and personality, what would these objects be? And yes, a university building is an object, in case you're in doubt...:-)
i. A guitar -- I love music in general, but most importantly I love music as an expression of what I can't convey in spoke or written words. Music also brings back memories, as I tend to associate milestones of my life with specific songs.
ii. A dream catcher -- According to Myers-Briggs' online classification, I'm an idealist. And I quite agree. I've had imaginary friends and plot bunnies and alternate scenario replays from asking too many "what if" questions in response to RL events—all results of an overactive imagination.
iii. My university ID card -- lol, I opted for this rather than the building because it's a bit more personal, and I have two main uni buildings and can't decide between them. My ID card says it all: my name, graduation year (i.e., "expiration" date), photo, student number, and of course, the name of the school—the embodiment of what takes up most of my time and energy during any given day.
iv. A bottle of water -- I'd use this to symbolize faith and how important it is in my life. Why water? The "proper" answer would be because somewhere in the Bible Jesus had declared himself to be the giver of living water, and I like water as a symbol of life and faith very much. That and I just happen to be staring at two bottles of water on my desk at this moment ;)
v. My laptop -- Very boring and, according to my roommates, an "unspiritual" choice :) But the reality is that my life revolves around the computer. I use it for school work, e-mail, my job work, andprocrastination fun. I wonder how I ever survived before the days of computers...?
2. According to JK Rowling, you can't choose what animal to become when you become an Animagus - what you become reflects what you are like as a person. What animal would you *like* to be - and which do you think you'd actually become?
A mink! It can swim but is not confined to water, looks enough like a cat (I love cats ^_^ ), is nocturnal, and tends to be mostly solitary though not excessively so. I'd also like to think that I possess some attack power in my Animagus form, since a slug Animagus would be rather disappointing...
3. What's you favourite dish?
Changes all the time. In general, lamb, because I can't cook lamb dishes so it tastes really good every time I get to eat some. The lamb dish I had at Turkish Kitchen two nights ago was exquisite.
4. If you suddenly became a witch and started your education at Hogwarts, which subject would you be best at, do you think?
Well, I asked my roommate off-handedly what she thinks and she said: "I think you would be good at Potions, with all the mixing and matching...but not that class on prediction."
I think I would *love* Ancient Runes, seeing how I loved my Sumerology classes when I studied all kinds of cuneiforms. I might become good at Potions once I get the hang of it (and get the hang of the professor ;)...but I definitely agree on roommie's not-good-at-Divinations verdict.
5. What are you planning to do after you finish your degree?
To start out with, I'll probably find a job related to editing. I've also considered doing translation or teaching, if the right opportunity comes along.
