Serendipity
Apr. 17th, 2005 10:03 pmI visited [Bad username or site: tanechigai / @ livejournal.com]'s church with her today. Service takes place in a NYC public college auditorium, so the place is HUGE.
As it is with any meeting place, the first few rows of seats were empty because NO ONE wanted to sit too close to the front. But since we arrived just as service was about to start, we didn't give any second thoughts to sitting in the second row (which was practically the first row, since no one occupied first row seats).
Then a random guy sat down next to me a few minutes later. But he wasn't a random guy—it turned out that he was one of my very best friends from college! I've somehow lost touch with him and have always thought it such a pity that we've drifted apart. Needless to say, I was absolutely thrilled to have run into him. At an auditorium with hundreds and hundreds of people none the least.
Coincidence? I'd say it's more serendipity ;)
