I got to see the dress rehearsal of Primo, a one-man show starring Anthony Sher (National Theatre of Great Britain), on free tickets today. Utterly fantastic.
The play is an adaptation of Primo Levi's If This is a Man, a first-hand recount/documentation of Levi's gruesome months spent in Auschwitz. Each scene is a mixture of horror with just a touch of humanity. There's a lot of death, but even more is the tenacious will to survive.
Information on Primo here (and soon to be here). The show officially opens on Broadway's the Music Box theater on July 11, 2005.
