Rain, Rain, Go Away!
Sep. 22nd, 2005 05:53 pmHurricane Rita
Yikes, another hurricane! From Washington Post: Rita May Cause Tens of Billions of Damage.
And according to ABC news, the traffic getting out of Houston is horrible: Houston Residents Struggle to Get Inland.
Not good.
nenyaentwhistle, if you're reading this, I hope you and your family are safe!
A very helpful entry by

Judge Roberts May Soon Be Chief Justice
From San Francisco Chronicles: Senate panel backs nomination of John Roberts.
The actual debate, from New York Times: Senate Panel's Debate on the Confirmation of Judge Roberts.
From a non-American perspective, here's BBC's article: US Senate panel approves Roberts. The article itself is pretty straightfoward, but you can click into profiles and debates from the page.
New LJ Feature
LJ now has a new feature, Schools. I literally saw it come on my screen earlier today -- at first it was a [ ] bewteen "interests" and "friends" on my userinfo page, but then later on in the day, the new category appeared. Look for and/or list your school(s) if you so feel inclined!
[ETA: lol, seems like I was ahead of LJ, for once! The Livejournal main page has posted details about the new "schools" feature.]
Update
For those of you who care to know, I uploaded the rest of my Homo Sacer notes, with some post-reading thoughts, at my post here from two days ago.
Meme Time!
To diffuse all the news, here's a meme behind the cut. Ganked from pretty much everywhere, as I've seen this floating around my f-list for quite a few days already.
