A new study has generated some interests in the media:

40% of world's wealth owned by 1% of population, CBC News. Depending on where you read the news summary of the study, BBC says the world's top 2% owns over half of the world's wealth, and Times Online reports the richest tenth owining 85% of the world's assets.

I was pretty quick to dismiss myself out of the top 1% -- and that's probably true. But then reading all the different headlines gave me pause. Can I definitively say I'm not part of the world's top 2% richest? Maybe not according to the study, which is financially focused, but what about education attained? For what it's worth, I have completed all my masters coursework, so I'm only a thesis away from having an M.A. This definitely makes me among the world's top 2% educated (I remember reading the stats somewhere once). And even if we focus strictly on the money aspect, I think I'd definitely fall into the top tenth category. So I have wealth. Lots of it.

With that in mind, 'tis the season of giving again. What animal(s) should I buy this year?

Ignore my selections... I chose "Llama, Llama, Duck," for those of you who know where it's from *g*

Christmas song of the day: We Three Kings, by Rhea's Obsession with Athan Maroulis -- awesome arrangement with neat instrumentation
