Holiday Spirit in New Jersey
Dec. 17th, 2006 11:01 pmI took a day trip to NJ today, and I only just realized how little holiday spirit I have this year. It's ironic, given how much I'm blasted in the face with CHRISTMAS! advertisements all over New York City, but I think I've learned to tune that out. Today, while driving to a dinner party, I saw all sorts of Christmas/holiday decorations on people's houses and yards. And while passing by a small town, the local firefighters had a holiday parade using fire trucks, complete with swirling lights and sirens. It was rather adorable *g* Seeing these lights and hearing Christmas carols playing on the car radio, it finally hit me that Christmas is here :)
(Our apartment does have Christmas lights and a tiny plastic tree. But they're out all year, so they don't count.)
