WASHINGTON -- Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a Republican best known for his stewardship of the city after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, has taken the first step in a 2008 presidential bid.
Statements like this seem strange to me. I always think of Giuliani as the man who cleaned up the subway, made central park safe, and ran the mob out of the fulton fishmarket.
Did he do anything notable during and after 9/11 other than be there?
