Slight Modification to Tonight's Schedule

I know I sent an open invitation to everyone to come to dinner before we head out to the Harry Potter release party, BUT, there's something better tonight! From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., InterVarsity is hosting a Friends of New York Urban Project dinner, basically a NYCUP open house with food :)
Now, I'm lame and I won't be going to the NYCUP dinner, so feel free to call me up, come over, and still have dinner at 6K. But if at all possible, support the local InterVarsity staff team and go get yourself some free food!
The Harry Potter release party plan is still on.
Also, I might end up helping Fiction Alley people set up at Books of Wonder, which means I will need to be at the bookstore by 10 p.m. (the release party starts at 11). I have yet to hear back from both the event's mods (one of them said yes, but that's only a 50% confirmation) so nothing's set in stone yet. But this means I'll have to figure out a way for us to meet up unless you want to hover outside the bookstore for an hour watching me set up through the revolving doors.
Personal shout out: Hey
everydaysushi! Um... can I have your phone number? Will you be going to BoW tomorrow or to some other party? E-mail me if you don't want to leave your number for all to see.
[ETA: I am helping to set up so will definitely need to be there at 10.]

Date: 2005-07-15 09:44 am (UTC)Oh about BoW... man I was seriously debating this, but I think I'll be heading to a B&N because A) it's cheaper there, B) BoW will probably be INSANELY crowding seeing as the illustrator'll be there (right?) and C) I just found out that B&Ns are giving out freebies with your purchase... so anyway that's the dealio!! Um, ok I will give you my WORK number in "code"... er-yi-er, qi-san-wu, jiu-qi-ling-ba...
Actually Reb and I and some of my other friends are going to see Batman Begins tonight (because I need SOMETHING TO TAKE MY MIND OFF HP!!! ...too bad Batman will be TOTALLY OVERSHADOWED & FORGOTTEN APPROX 2 HOURS AFTER I SEE IT!!!)... Anyway I'd ask you if you're interested but sounds like you've got plans...! We need to get together on Sunday or something and discuss HBP. ;oP

Date: 2005-07-15 09:53 am (UTC)I'm gonna defend Batman Begins here... it's totally worth it to go watch, and I doubt you'll forget it the moment you walk out the theater. Maybe it'll be suppressed by the HBP craze for a few days, but it'll resurface ;)
lol, and I believe I played some role in telling Rebecca to go see the movie, so haha, trickle down effect to you XD
We'll plan something for Sunday or after. Maybe I can invite you and Reb over and while we discuss the book she can play Animal Crossing :D

Date: 2005-07-15 01:08 pm (UTC)Yeah, maybe another day of the week, one when you don't have to work or work late. The sane part of me is telling my body to go to sleep after tonight's party so that I can start reading the book tomorrow awake and refreshed.
But I read a 176-page book yesterday all in one go within a couple of hours or so. I can't imagine it'll take more than a day for a 672-page book. (Though I do want to spread it over two days... just seems unfair that I waited for years only to read the whole thin in a day.)
