I can hear the majority of New Yorkers breath a collective sigh of relief. Really, I have yet to meet someone who wanted the Olympics to come to New York. So while the NYC Olympics Committee mourns, we NYC commoners will be rejoicing.

Humph. I don't think I want my internship anymore. It's been over a week since the second interview, half a month since the first. And I thought the internship was supposed to start on July 1?!?

Talked with Housemate A yesterday and expressed my uncertainty. She said it might not be a good idea to take it if the people don't seem organized and if my heart's not really in it (I thought it was when I first applied). And besides, I already have something to fill the slot of "Summer 2005" on my résumé (my copyediting stunt). Going home sounds like a better idea.

On the bright side, I was impressed that I got called back for a second interview. It was a job meant for contemporary Jewish scholarship after all. How a non-Jew got through the initial screening process boggles me.

Ack! The university e-mail system is down. Maybe the internship people did get back to me and I just couldn't access it.
