For Immigration Rights: May 1

May 1, 2006 is the national Immigration Rights day in the U.S. Why support immigrant rights? What are my thoughts on the issue? See here, here, and here.

I picked a great day to move to Santa Ana...half the businesses are closed today! I really wanted to go to the donut shop ^_^;;

It's definitely a good thing though. I'm hoping this will have a huge impact, helping people to realize what a big part immigrants play in our economy. :)

I wonder how Magnolia will get along without it's kitchen staff to bake cupcakes?

Heh, even the Chinese restaurant I used to work at would be closed if they're still in business. The kitchen prep staff and dishwashers were definitely not Chinese, not to mention the questionable immigration status of everyone from the chef down to the wait staff ;)
