Got back from the library. There was nary a soul there, being the middle of the summer semseter and all (and at night time none the least). Before going to the library, I had dinner with a bunch of people at Zen Palate, which was very yummy ^_^

What I ended up doing in the library was writing a bit and reading parts of Psalms and Ecclesiastes/Qoheleth in one of those giant English-Hebrew volumes. I can only read Hebrew at snail pace now, but it was good to know that I still know some of the vocabs I learned years ago.

Full day tomorrow, there's dim sum in Chinatown with people (11:30 at Jing Fong -- come if you can!!!) and then I'm meeting G and hopefully I'll squeeze in church sometime in late afternoon. I had a pretty good interview the other day for the sports Internet job and I have a feeling I might get hired for this one, finally. So now I'm trying to play as much as I can before the real and responsible adult life begins
;)

"Know" is a very misleading term, lol. I had to learn a Semitic language as part of my undergraduate requirements, and it was either Hebrew or Arabic. The deciding factor was simple: Hebrew classes were M-F at 10 a.m., whereas Arabic classes were M-F at 9 a.m. ;)

I ended up taking two semesters of biblical Hebrew and four semesters of modern Hebrew. But just as my six years of French amounted to nothing more than toddler-level (non-)proficiency, I can barely order a meal and describe my family in Hebrew ^_^;;

Haha, that's about as much as I know, despite YEARS of lessons. The three year olds at the camp I work at speak better Hebrew than I do.

Shalom, though :D

Same here! 5 years of french and all I can say now are random things like Bonjour! Mon fromage est tres jolie! XD I can't remember most of the conjugations or anything anymore, which is really a shame. I still hope to visit France before I completely forget all my vocabulary though. And now I kick myself for not having taken Spanish, considering how prevalent a language it's become here.

I would love to go to France too. I've been there once, but it was with a music tour group and we only went to Euro Disney. It was so American there that I may as well have taken a trip to Florida :p

I wish you could have come to the Zen Palate gathering. It was rather last minute though.

What's your schedule like tonight? I might get together with [livejournal.com profile] elanor and a few other people from Brooklyn. No details yet, as Elanor is still hanging out with Beth and Cordelia, I think. But if you're free, I can give you a call when she contacts me with more substantial plans.
