lj_biz post here. It's simple, all you need to do is request a gift certificate by sending LJ an email at donorschoose@sixapart.com. (ETA: No need to say anything fancy either. Just a simple "Send me a gift certificate, please?" would do, or, as I suspect, just "Gift Certificate" *g*).
You can make a request until 5 p.m. Pacific Time (or 8 p.m. Eastern Time).
