First news I've been really excited about: Giuliani files papers to test waters for White House bid. (Of course, Giuliani has made no confirmation -- way to keep me sitting on chair's edge.) Personally, I'd love to see a Giuliani-Obama run-off in 2008. Heck, even a McCain-Hillary race would be more exciting than the one we had back in 2004.

In other news, I've been fiddling around with Facebook lately. I don't plan to do much, seeing how I've imported my LJ so I don't have to do any blogging over there. But it's the new shiny for me at the moment, lol.

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

This year I've been busy!

In January I put money in [livejournal.com profile] thelondonrain's expired parking meter (14 points). Last Saturday I set [livejournal.com profile] dove95's puppy on fire (-66 points). Last Thursday I gave [livejournal.com profile] joz_music a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). Last Monday I gave [livejournal.com profile] lynkemma a wet willie, then I took it back (-5 points). In April I helped [livejournal.com profile] tanechigai see the light (8 points).

Overall, I've been nice (1 points). For Christmas I deserve a Wii!

Sincerely,
ziasudra

WASHINGTON -- Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a Republican best known for his stewardship of the city after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, has taken the first step in a 2008 presidential bid.

Statements like this seem strange to me. I always think of Giuliani as the man who cleaned up the subway, made central park safe, and ran the mob out of the fulton fishmarket.

Did he do anything notable during and after 9/11 other than be there?

Same thing. I think for people within the tri-state area, Giuliani's real accomplishments were much more than being gracefully stoic right after 9/11. That's partly why I believe in his credentials. My dad's told me plenty of New York stories when he was in Columbia back in the 70s, and anyone with eyes can see just what a place NYC has changed into from its former days.

And there are some articles (mostly from foreign sources) that continue referring to Giuliani as mayber, lol. It's as if Bloomberg doesn't exist!

Ah! The Golden Age: President Clinton and Mayor Giuliani!

We didn't know how good we had it.

I'm kind of glad you took it back, actually...

Is there anything in particular you want for Christmas? It might end up being a Chinese New Year's pressie instead, because of my travel plans, but please let me know in any case ^^

Hehe ^_^

ooh, what do I want... I'd love to have more of those yummy chocolates that you sent me last year. I'm salivating just at the thought of them! They would be the perfect holiday/Chinese New Year/winter/spring gift.

Do you want anything from the States? Feel free to ask for anything... I had a poll set up a couple of weeks ago somewhere... don't have the link right off the top of my head.

OK! Chocolates will happen ^^ That won't be until I get back to Norway, though, so it will be a spring present, rather than a Christmas one.

Oooh, as for what I want... I don't know, can you get Chinese incense in New York? If so, I'd really like some. We only get Indian incense here, and it's not nearly as nice.

I'll see if I find any incense in Chinatown. I mean, I know they have them, but a lot of them are the cheap kinds for people to buy and use in temples, not for aromatic purposes to put around the house. If I come across any that smells good, I'll remember to pick some up for you.

Although I should look at shipping rules too. Shipping incense shouldn't be a problem, but one never knows nowadays... :p
